Whether it is a beautiful rustic French gîte or a pitch for a caravan, motor home or tent on our 6 pitch camping site, we can cater for all your needs.
La Bucaille is situated in the tranquil rural hamlet of Montgardon, only 3 minutes by car (1.5 miles, 20 minutes if you fancy a stroll) from the popular Normandie market town of La Haye du Puits (which has got everything you need from good restaurants, bars and brasseries to an assortment of shops (including many French traditional shops), 2 pharmacies, a selection of hairdressers, 2 veterinary practices, Post Office and several estate agencies. On the edge of the Marais, Cotentin and Bessin National Park, we are ideally situated with miles and miles of beautiful French countryside on our doorstep.
We are only 10 minutes away from the nearest beach on the west side of the Cotentin peninsula and 40 minutes from Utah beach, one of the famous Normandie D-Day landing beaches. We are ideally situated for The Bayeux Tapestry, Le Mont Saint Michel and Villedieu-les-Poeles, to name but a few of the many attractions that Basse-Normandie has to offer.
Whether you have an interest in the military, museums, beaches, water sports, bird watching, walking, traditional French craft towns or antique shops, Basse-Normandie has everything to offer. For those of you who enjoy cycling and walking, you could perhaps take a cycle ride along the many miles of the Green route cycle / footpath picking up the Velo Vert route from La Haye Du Puits.

We are ideally situated with good accessibility to the ferry ports of Cherbourg (40 minutes) and Caen (1½ hours) with good motorway links. We are 2 hours away from Dinard airport.
If you do have pets that need to be seen by a vet before returning back to the UK, we can personally recommend our local vet who offers two daily walk - in clinics am/pm (except Sunday), the details of which we will give you upon arrival. |
